Fun with follow-through

The show ends. The teamwork stays.

Robertswood gives teams a shared creative challenge that’s pure fun on the day, then helps them turn what happened on stage into insight they can use back at work.

Research from Oxford and Stanford universities shows that singing and moving together helps groups bond faster and cooperate more.

The research
  • Singing groups bonded faster than craft or creative writing groups. Pearce, Launay and Dunbar (2015), Royal Society Open Science. Read the study
  • People who danced in sync felt more socially bonded with strangers. Tarr, Launay and Dunbar (2016), Evolution and Human Behavior. Read the study
  • People who moved in sync cooperated more in group exercises afterwards. Wiltermuth and Heath (2009), Psychological Science. Read the study
  • Connect beyond the org chart

Meet colleagues differently, build trust quickly and create a shared memory people actually talk about.

  • Practise brave collaboration

Try something unfamiliar, share ideas, adapt in real time and make the final performance together.

  • Make the learning stick

Every workshop ends with individual evaluations and a facilitated enrichment session that connects the experience to your team’s everyday work.

Questions before curtain-up

Everything your organiser brain needs to know.

Still wondering about something? We’d much rather answer a question than have it get in the way of a brilliant day.

Do our people need to be able to sing or dance?

Not at all. Robertswood is designed for everyday teams, not trained performers. Our facilitators build skills step by step, make room for different comfort levels and help the group succeed together.

How many people can take part?

Between 20 and 200 people, working in teams of 10 to 50. Planning something bigger or smaller? Ask us and we’ll recommend what works for your event.

How long does a workshop run?

A five-hour half day, morning or afternoon, or a seven-hour full day. Shorter conference energisers, regular classes and custom formats can also be discussed.

Where can we hold it?

At your workplace, your chosen venue or a space we arrange. In Sydney, we have access to 3Danks, a beautiful studio on Danks Street in Waterloo, and we can find venues right across Australia.

What’s included?

A pre-event planning session, expert facilitation, warm-up and cool-down, rehearsals, costumes and props, the final performance, and evaluation and enrichment to connect the experience back to work. Every team also receives a Robertswood showbiz bag.

Can you arrange catering and transport?

Yes. We can organise catering, a booking at a nearby venue, refreshments or celebration drinks, and transport for your group.

Can the workshop be tailored to our business goals?

Yes. We start with your people, event and outcomes, then recommend or adapt the format. The creative challenge can focus on themes such as trust, communication, confidence, change, resilience or collaboration.

Is it safe?

Yes. Every workshop runs in a safe dance environment with a warm-up and cool-down.

How does booking work?

Send an enquiry and we’ll confirm availability and a quote, then hold a planning session with you. A 50% deposit and a signed agreement secure your date, and the balance is due two weeks before your workshop.

How far ahead should we book?

At least four weeks, so we can line up the studio, catering and transport. Need it sooner? Ask anyway and we’ll do our best.

How much does it cost?

Every workshop is quoted on group size, format, location and extras. Share the basics in the enquiry form and we’ll come back to you with options.

Do you travel?

Yes. Robertswood runs workshops Australia-wide.
